Staff Petrophysicist (2010-08-03 09:22:22)

Location: Houston, TX

This business unit dedicated to exploring worldwide for conventional and unconventional exploration plays.

The candidate will be the technical professional responsible for assessing and integrating wireline logs and core data. The candidate is required to work as a proactive and innovative member with several technical evaluation teams.


The candidate will be responsible for standard log analysis, such as, generating calculated values for Rw, Sw, net pay, and porosity. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for assessing unconventional shale reservoirs via advanced techniques to determine bound water, permeability, geochemical, mineralogical and geomechanical parameters.

In addition, the candidate will provide New Ventures operational support for drilling, coring, tool selection and quality control between the company and vendor logging company.

 

BS, MS or higher degree in Geology.
Ten years or more of petrophysical interpretation, including significant experience in unconventional reservoirs and logging operations.

Expert usage and interpretation ability using petrophysical software, such as IP, HDS or similar petrophysical software, is required.

Expert knowledge for core analysis and advanced log suites, such as, NMR, ECS & Dielectric logs.

Experience using Petra, Geographix or similar geologic software is required.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full time basis without restrictions.

 


Project Manager (2010-08-03 09:18:29)

Location: Houston, TX

To establish the position of Project Manager, based in Houston, to manage and coordinate aspects of client projects to include understanding client need, commercial bidding, technical specifications, fabrication oversight, maintenance of schedule, project completion status, and client reporting.  The Project Manager will also oversee construction managers handling client maintenance projects in addition to new project construction.  Primary business development will be supplied by the Audubon group of companies and its associated business development personnel.  The Project Manager will assist in translating client
requirements gained from business development input into value proposals and ultimately quality services to the client.  The Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for PCM in the Houston market.

• Responsible for ensuring that the completed service meets the defined customer requirements
• Establish and meet the project schedule, managing project costs, and directing the entire team
• Project administration, including being the designated project contact person for clients and associated subcontractors as appropriate
• Work closely with the project engineering function in addressing specific technical issues and reviews
• Utilizes project management skills and document control tools in the organization to ensure successful execution of project assignments
• Ensure all QA/QC aspects of the work, including engineering, third party review/monitoring, documentation requirements including material certificates and as built documentation, are followed and complete in accordance with Q-PASS (PCM’s Quality Assurance Manual), standard instructions, and project specific requirements.
• Assures adherence to engineering specifications.
• Reports regularly to client regarding project status.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
• This position requires functional understanding of ISO drawings, client P&ID specifications, fabrication yard practices, and offshore installation practices.  Knowledge of midstream and downstream energy work environments would also be helpful.

• A business growth oriented individual who can plan, organize, anticipate growth needs and communicate same to recruiting members of the organization.
• The Project Manager should have the skills to evaluate the skill levels of subordinate construction managers and match appropriately to meet the requirements of Houston based projects.
• The Project Manager should have interpersonal skills to work with client and affiliated company management, subordinates, engineering company representatives and construction contractors.
• College degree in technical discipline preferred but not necessarily required
• Minimum of 15 years of experience as project manager in the offshore construction, midstream or downstream oil and gas market or a combination thereof.
• Places safety as a first priority and promotes use of *SAFEPASS*, PCM’s employee safety passport
• Extensive knowledge of fabrication procedures is required.
• Problem solving abilities must be evident.
• Must be skilled in conflict resolution.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• May be required to travel offshore dependent on project need
• Travel to and from offshore worksites and/or fabrication shops as required

 


Staff Regional Geologist (2010-08-03 09:17:26)

Location: Houston, TX

Responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating regional geological studies and maintaining play-wide geological maps and interpretations in support of ongoing development of the Company’s acreage position in the Fayetteville Shale play, Eastern Arkoma Basin, Arkansas. The Regional Geologist will serve as a focal point for knowledge sharing across asset teams, and is expected to play a key role in familiarizing less experienced geoscientists on geological characteristics of the play. The Regional Geologist will work closely with geoscientists and engineers on the Desoto Development teams to ensure regional consistency in interpretations and to address technical challenges which are of a regional nature, and will serve as a liaison with external researchers and service providers.

Qualifications:
Masters degree or higher in Geology or Geophysics
Ten years experience in petroleum exploration and development
Prior play-scale interpretation and evaluation experience is essential
Prior experience with unconventional gas resources is strongly desired
Strong “generalist” skills, with familiarity or experience in the following areas:
Sequence stratigraphy of mixed carbonate-clastic systems
Sedimentology of shales and mudstones
Structure and isopach mapping
Geochemistry of source rocks
